Project Spotlight
Dell-Comm is proud to have been selected by Qwest as the sole copper and fiber services provider for the 2008 Republican National Convention being held at the Xcel Center in downtown St. Paul. Dell-Comm was awarded this project due to the level of experience in completing large-scale cabling projects under tight scheduling and security constraints. Dell-Comm worked closely with the RNC Committee, the Secret Service and many local government agencies and network affiliates to ensure their needs were addressed and their expectations were met. At the project peak, Dell-Comm was concurrently running 18 different infrastructure projects at the RNC project and another 13 projects back their corporate offices located in Minneapolis.
In the end, Dell-Comm managed a workforce varying from 20-24 on site installers and technicians and installed over 1 million feet of CAT 5e cable, 270,000 feet of CAT 6 and 30,000 feet of fiber. All of this cable was installed and tested within a strict 45 day window. At the end of the project, Dell-Comm was also under contract to remove the same 1,400,000 feet of cable and was given just 4 days following the convention to do that.
Dell-Comm is a Qwest preferred contractor and has partnered with Qwest on other large-scale cabling infrastructure projects around Minnesota and Dakotas. If you have a project that has a challenging schedule and tight security requirement, leverage Dell-Comm's experience and credentials. Dell-Comm has the expertise and manpower to get it done fast under any circumstances.
Dell-Comm is proud to be able to add the 2008 Republican National Convention to our long list of successful projects.
